— UAE & GCC Senior Career Advisory

Not getting interviews? You've probably already updated your CV.

The issue is often not your experience. It’s how the market is interpreting it.
I help senior professionals understand what’s blocking traction — and what to change.

— What we hear in almost every first call

You've been doing everything right. The market still isn't moving.

Your experience lacks a clear narrative.

Regional operator. Transformation leader. Commercial executive. Each may be accurate — but together they make the profile harder to place. Recruiters need to put you in one clear category. If they can't, they move on.

Your CV and LinkedIn are telling different stories

The CV tells one story, the LinkedIn tells another. Hiring teams and AI sourcing tools both flag that inconsistency immediately — before any conversation takes place.

You keep reaching the final round — and coming second

Feedback is always vague. "Cultural fit." "Another strong candidate." You performed well — but the framing of your experience didn't connect clearly enough with what the panel needed to hear at the decision point.

Your achievements aren't being interpreted at the right level.

"Delivered," "executed," "supported." Strong experience — wrong register. The market at your level is looking for commercial ownership and strategic leadership. Same career, framed at the wrong level.

“None of these are experience problems. Every one is a positioning and visibility problem — and that’s exactly what we address.”

— The UAE hiring reality

What's actually happening on the other side of your application.

Senior hiring in the UAE operates on a different logic. Understanding it is the difference between a search that stalls for months and one that moves.

01

The shortlist is built before the role is announced

Recruiters map the market against a brief before a position goes live. By the time you see it posted, 5–10 profiles are already under consideration. Visibility before that point is what gets you in the room.

02

AI tools are screening you before any human does

Corporate and boutique recruiters across the UAE use AI sourcing tools to filter candidates. If your profile isn’t structured to surface correctly in those systems, you don’t exist — regardless of your background.

03

Referrals no longer work the way they used to

In-house teams now require all candidates — including referrals — to go through formal approval processes. A warm introduction still helps, but it needs to be backed by a profile that clears the system.

By the time a role is publicly posted, the direction is often already set. The professionals who move quickly in this market aren’t more experienced — they’re more clearly positioned and more consistently visible.

— Who you're working with

I work on both sides of the hiring process.

My career has been built across recruitment, HR, talent acquisition, and business leadership.

Over the past 20+ years, I’ve worked with organisations ranging from multinational corporations to growing businesses across the UAE and wider MENA region. I’ve reviewed thousands of CVs, interviewed candidates, built shortlists, supported hiring managers, and helped organisations make hiring decisions.

Today, I lead both No Cap Consulting, a recruitment and HR advisory business, and Job Search Mastery, the division dedicated to helping professionals navigate the UAE and GCC job market more effectively.

What I bring to clients is not a theory of how hiring should work.

It’s an understanding of how hiring decisions are actually made.

Most of the professionals I work with already have the experience required for the opportunities they’re targeting.

The challenge is ensuring that experience is positioned, communicated, and presented in a way the market can quickly recognise and value.

Common Questions Before You Begin

Everything you need to know before booking your strategy call.

Why am I not getting interviews in the UAE?

In many cases, the issue is not experience. It’s how that experience is being communicated. If your CV, LinkedIn profile, and positioning do not clearly demonstrate your value, recruiters may struggle to understand where you fit, regardless of your background.

Does ATS really matter in the UAE?

Yes, but not in the way many people think. Most larger organisations use applicant tracking systems as part of their recruitment process. However, ATS optimisation alone is rarely enough. Your profile must also be compelling to recruiters and hiring managers once it reaches a human review.

Is UAE experience required to get hired?

Not always. While some employers prioritise local experience, many senior professionals successfully transition into the UAE market from abroad. The key is understanding how to position international experience in a way that aligns with local hiring expectations.

How long does a job search usually take?

Every situation is different. Some professionals generate interviews within a few weeks, while others require more time depending on their industry, seniority, location, and market conditions. The objective is to build visibility and momentum as early as possible.

Is LinkedIn important for finding a job in the UAE?

Yes. Recruiters across the UAE and GCC regularly use LinkedIn to identify and evaluate candidates. A well-positioned profile can increase visibility, strengthen credibility, and create opportunities that may never be publicly advertised.

Do recruiters actually read CVs?

Yes, but often very quickly. Recruiters may spend only a few seconds deciding whether a profile is relevant. Clear positioning, strong executive messaging, and visible achievements are often more important than the length of the document.

How many jobs should I apply for in the UAE?

There is no universal number. A focused strategy targeting relevant opportunities, recruiters, and decision-makers is usually more effective than submitting large volumes of applications without a clear plan.

Why should I choose career advisory instead of CV writing?

CV writing focuses on the document itself. Career advisory looks at the broader picture, including positioning, visibility, job search strategy, networking, recruiter engagement, interview preparation, and how hiring decisions are made in the market you are targeting.
